PORTABLE ASSISTED
LIVING SERVICES (PALS)
Everyone should be able to safely
age-in-place, regardless of income.
PALS offers a way for seniors living in subsidized housing to age-in-place and receive customized care, allowing them to maintain independence and safely remain at home. It is an Assisted Living Program (ALP), which are licensed by the State of New Jersey.
PALS is the only ALP in Bergen County, and the only ALP with a full-time social worker on-staff in the state.
Portable Assisted Living Services (PALS) program is Bergen County's only licensed assisted living service catering to low-income older adults residing in subsidized housing. PALS aims to address the unique challenges faced by this population, who are priced out of traditional assisted living communities but still require essential support as they age and need assistance with daily activities. PALS offers a lifeline for older adults to maintain their independence and age with dignity in the comfort of their homes, avoiding the need to relocate to costly facilities or require premature placement in a nursing home. Our dedicated social worker ensures personalized care planning, fosters community engagement through social activities, and connects clients to vital social services. With PALS, we aim to uphold trust, efficacy, and dignity, tailoring care to individual needs and preferences.
