The "Fill the Gap" campaign is centered around a straightforward yet powerful concept: we close the gap between the essential care low- and middle-income older adults face when transitioning to Medicaid and a financially viable way to access it.
We proudly accept Medicaid with no prerequisites at Bright Side Manor and PALS, a rarity in assisted living. However, there is often a long bureaucratic delay between the time someone transitions to our assisted living facilities/programs and the date when their Medicaid enrollment becomes effective. During this limbo period, we provide care at a financial loss while our staff employs its expertise to assist in navigating the often-confusing and intimidating Medicaid application process. While most Medicaid applications eventually come through, retroactive payments can take weeks or months, compounding the challenge of financing our day-to-day operations.
We invite you to be a beacon of support for these individuals in need. The concept is simple yet profound: for the month of November, your generous contributions will directly cover the costs for those who are awaiting Medicaid enrollment but cannot afford the out-of-pocket expenses for care that is vital to ensuring their safety.
Our goal is to raise $6,000 to cover the cost of one month of care for a resident at Bright Side Manor and our PALS program. Together, we can make a big impact this Thanksgiving season. And we'd love for you to be part of it.
